About Us

The Santa Paula Fire Department provides all- risk emergency services for the City of Santa Paula and surrounding areas. Our mission is to protect life and property and promote the health, safety and well being of our citizens. Founded in 1903, the department has a long history of providing vital emergency services including fire suppression, emergency medicine, rescue and other non-emergency public services.
In addition to our responding to a wide range of emergencies in the City of Santa Paula, our engine companies are called to incidents throughout Ventura County, and the entire state. We maintain automatic aid agreements with Ventura County Fire, Ventura City Fire, Oxnard Fire, Federal Fire of Ventura County and Fillmore Fire, who utilize both our engine companies and our Light and Air service unit. Santa Paula Fire engine companies regularly respond to state-wide disasters as part of regional strike teams, including seasonal Wildland fires, earthquakes and other natural disasters.

Santa Paula Fire Department is a professional department with full-time firefighters providing 24/7 all-risk fire and rescue services. Our engine companies are staffed with a full-time Captain, Engineer, and Firefighter to maintain a minimum of 3-person staffing on each engine. Our department contains experts in the area of fire suppression and prevention, rescue, emergency medicine, and community emergency response and planning, and we conduct regular training in all areas to ensure we are prepared for any emergency.

The department responds to over 2700 emergency calls per year from two engine companies strategically placed at separate stations in the city. As a result, we are able to provide continuous coverage throughout Santa Paula with an average response time of less than 5 minutes to all 911 calls.
