Fire Suppression
The primary mission of any fire department is the protection of life, property and the environment. Our teams are trained and equipped to handle all types of fires, including dumpster fires, car fires, vegetation fires and structure fires in residential and commercial occupancies. All of our Firefighters are certified by the California State Fire Marshall, and participate in regular training exercises in Fire Suppression to ensure constant readiness.
Emergency Medicine
A significant majority of the 911 calls we respond to are calls for Medical Aid. Emergency Medical calls account for nearly 80% of all emergency calls in the City, and our Firefighters are trained to handle all kinds of medical emergencies. All members of the Santa Paula Fire Department are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians and can provide Basic Life Support level care. Our firefighters work in conjunction with American Medical Response, who provides Paramedic services and ambulance transport in the community.
Rescue & Vehicle Extrication
All members of the Santa Paula Fire department are trained in the latest techniques for performing auto extrication. Both of our engines carry Rescue Tools, commonly known as "The Jaws of Life" which can be used to assist with removing entrapped patients from their vehicles. Our teams have also received specialized training in rope rescue, swift water rescue, and more.
